私たちの仕事は、一枝の「コリヤナギ」から始まります。
ヤナギ科の落葉低木――風にしなやかに揺れるその姿は、強く、美しい。
放っておいても育つ植物ですが、あえて手をかけ、土をならし、四季とともに育てます。
冬を越えた枝を収穫し、一本一本、皮を剥ぐ。手触りと香りを確かめながら、「材料」が生まれます。コリヤナギに宿る「タンニン」は、自然が与えた防虫の力。この力を活かすため、私たちは丸木のまま編み上げます。
理にかなった機能と、職人の手が生む編み目の美しさ――
それは使うほどに手になじみ、伝統は暮らしに息づく。
畑から製品まで、すべての工程に手と時間を注ぐのはひとつの想い。本物の手仕事だけが生み出せる、確かな美しさを届けたいから。
The Story of KORI ANRI JAPAN
Our work begins with a single branch of Kori Yanagi — the Japanese basket willow.
Graceful yet strong, it sways with the wind.
Though it can grow wild, we choose to nurture it with care, tending the soil and the seasons.
After winter, we harvest each branch, peel its bark by hand, feeling its texture and scent — the moment it becomes material.
Within the willow lies tannin, nature’s quiet strength that protects and preserves.
To honor this gift, we weave the willow in its natural round form.
Its function is born of reason, its beauty shaped by the craftsman’s hands —
fitting gently into the rhythm of everyday life.
From the field to the finished piece, every process carries our hands and time.
For one simple reason: to deliver the true beauty that only genuine handcraft can create.

春 —
冬を越えたコリヤナギを畑に挿し直し、陽を浴びて芽吹かせる。皮を剥ぎ、流水で洗い、天日に干して素材となす。
Spring
As buds emerge, dormant Kori Yanagi branches are replanted, revived by sunlight.
Their bark is peeled, washed in running water, and dried beneath the open sky.
夏 —
天に向かって真っ直ぐに伸びていく。畑に雑草が繁る中、草取りと芽かきを欠かさず行う。それが、良質なコリヤナギを育てる夏の大切な仕事。
Summer
As the willows reach for the sky, we weed and prune with care — a vital summer task to nurture strong, beautiful Kori Yanagi.
秋 —
穂先が金に輝き、風に揺れる頃。
手をかけ育てた枝は、静かに成長を終える。
葉が舞い落ち、冬を待つ穏やかな季節。
Autumn
Golden tips sway in the wind.
The tended willows finish their quiet growth,
leaves falling gently as they wait for winter.
冬 —
雪を前に、コリヤナギを刈り取り束ねる。
倒れぬよう水に立て、静かな冬越しへ。
一年の恵みを手に、春を待つ。
Winter
Before the snow, we harvest and bind the willows, standing them in water to rest through winter — a quiet pause before spring returns.
